Certifications

  • SSAE 16 Type II Compliant
    SSAE 16 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SSAE 16 is an acronym for “Statement of Auditing Standards”.
    SSAE 16 Type II provides assurance that a service organization has had its control objectives and control activities examined by an independent accounting and auditing firm. The audit report enables service organizations to demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their customers.
  • Certified Healthcare Business Associate — MDHBA
    BCFS has achieved designation as a Certified Healthcare Business Associate (CHBA). The CHBA certification program is a voluntary program offered exclusively to Medical-Dental-Hospital Business Associates (MDHBA) members. MDHBA has established criteria providing comprehensive guidelines to maintain quality work standards that protect the integrity of members business operations as well as their clients. This program recognizes healthcare accounts receivable management companies that have met the highest industry standards in the areas of compliance and accountability. Agencies completing the program realize higher levels of recovery, employee retention and customer satisfaction.
  • Certified Healthcare Collectors — MDHBA
    In addition to the CHBA program, all BCFS employees maintain a current designation from MDHBA as a Certified Healthcare Collector (CHC). This certification program educates healthcare collectors in patient privacy issues relating to HIPAA, FDCPA and FCRA. The primary focus of the program is to enhance BCFS employees methods for helping patients develop financial responsibility.
  • Professional Collection Specialists Certification — ACA International
    Each BCFS collector maintains a current designation from the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals (ACA International) as a Certified Professional Collection Specialist (PCS). This program teaches collectors professional and ethical collection practices to ensure the highest level of service is provided to our clients at all times.
  • Payment Card Industries — Data Security Standards Certified — McAfee
    BCFS is PCI-DSS Certified by McAfee. Payment Card Industries — Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) was created to regulate organizations that process card payments. It helps prevent credit card fraud and other security breaches through increased controls around data and its exposure to compromise. This certification is renewed quarterly and ensures security standards are consistently met.
  •  Agency Healthcare Certification Award 
    BCFS is the recipient of the prestigious Agency Healthcare Certification Award, the highest award for standards, quality and service given by the Medical-Dental-Hospital Bureaus of America (MDHBA), located in Chicago, Il. Certification requirements require that all collectors must be MDHBA certified and that owners and senior management personnel must have obtained the status of Certified Professional Bureau Executive (CPBE). The agency must also be the recipient of the MDHBA Pinnacle Award. Standards of conduct are distributed and acknowledged by all employees. Other action plans involve company-wide compliance meetings and Internal Systems Monitoring by a Compliance Committee to coordinate and implement corporate integrity programs.
